Installation Guide for IBM Connections Docs 2.0 CR3 and Conversion Server on Linux

Since especially upgrading IBM Connections Docs has in the past led to some confusion and sometimes failed installation and the installation of the Conversions Server on Linux is something new I decided to document the installation and share this with you. It starts with a Connections 6.0 and IBM Connections Docs 2.0 vanilla deployed and takes you through the upgrade to CR3 and the installation of the Conversion Server.   You can also download the document right here.

IBM Connections Docs 2.0 CR3 has been released

Today IBM Docs 2.0 CR3 has hit FixCentral! Aside from fixes the two biggest things in my point of view are: Support for the Conversion Server on Linux: This way you can know deploy all of Docs one platform of your choice: Windows or Linux. No need for a mandatory Windows server at customers, that run a Linux only strategy. Important note: currently the Linux Conversion Server does not, yet, support the Graphical Installer. So if you are planning on deploying using it on Linux, install all needed components except the Conversion server first in version 2.0, then upgrade them…

Coming up soon: IBM Connections Docs CR3 with lots of new features!

Jim Puckett just talked about the upcoming CR3 for IBM Connections Docs (yes, it is right around the corner) at the Social Connections in Vienna. There are lots of great features around the corner with the conversion server being available on Linux probably being the most awaited one.  This is a great step towards our PINK strategy and being able to provide provide also the editing capabilities of Docs via Docker containers.
